Overview
RCR-1142 is a universal magnetic slide reader that can read Tracks 1 and 2 or Tracks 1, 2 and 3 magnetic information with a single swipe in either direction. The reader accepts high and low coercivity magnetic cards and can read all ISO 7811, AAMVA and California driver's licenses. A manual swipe magnetic card reader is a device that can be used to read the data stored on the magnetic stripe on the back of the card. It has a card slot that can be swiped manually, and a card reader that reads the data on the magnetic strip. This type of card reader is often used to process payments because credit and debit cards have a magnetic stripe that contains account information. When the card is swiped, the reader reads the information and transmits it to the processing system, which verifies the account and approves or declines the transaction.
